Fee Payment Options

Office of Finance

• Payments must be made in person (request an appointment via email at finance.csd.appt@lacity.org) or by mail. See special instructions for mailed payments below.*
• Payment Options: Cash, Check, Money Order, Credit Card.
• An individual may pay the full invoice OR the full amount of a single line item. Partial payments of a line item will not be accepted.

*Payments by Mail

DCR will accept payment by physical mail for DCR Renewal fees only. For mailed payments, please follow the instructions below:

• Payments must be postmarked by the “Void if Not Paid By Date” for it to be considered timely 
• Checks should be payable to the “City of Los Angeles” 
• Please include a copy of the invoice with your payment 
• Money orders and checks issued by DAMA Financial are acceptable for mailed payments to DCR. (Please note: LA DBS does not accept money orders or DAMA Financial checks at its Development Service Locations).

Department of Building and Safety’s (LADBS) Development Services Locations

• An appointment is not necessary and there are five LADBS Development Services Locations throughout the city.

Here are some things you need to know before you go:

1. Bring three copies of the invoice with you when you are making a payment to the LADBS Development Services office
2. Acceptable forms of payment are Checks (preferred method) and Cash (Metro - Downtown location only).
   • Check Acceptance Policy (Dama Financial): Please note that checks issued by Dama Financial are not accepted. Dama Financial is a banking platform commonly used in the cannabis industry. These checks are pre-authorized and lack an actual signature, therefore, LADBS cannot process them because they lack access to the signature on file.
   • Money Orders and Credit Cards are not accepted.
3. A receipt will be provided to you
4. You must email a copy or photo of your receipt to DCR.Payments@lacity.org or you may drop off your receipt at DCR’s office to more quickly reflect the payment to your account. Make sure to keep a copy of the receipt for your records.

Please note, payments of tax receipts cannot be made at DBS Development Services locations. Those must be made through the City’s Office of Finance. You may contact the Office of Finance here.
